King
Fox Trotters
I have been raising
Missouri Fox Trotters for a little over 10 years . We recently purchased
our new senior stallion, Request the Gold, who was sired by Danney Joe's Golden
Shadow out of Pierson Creek Majestic Queen. "Risky foaled July
2,1995, he has a wonderful disposition and an excellent foxtrot. His
Quarter horse build and natural rhythm makes him an excellent ride anywhere we
go.
Our ranch is located in what used to be the Spanish controlled Central United States and New Madrid was once the capitol for New Spain. It is also known for the 1811 major earthquake in our area. New Madrid is located on the banks of the Mississippi River in South East Missouri right on Interstate 55 which makes it easy and convenient to visit us. We are about 170 miles south of St. Louis, 120 miles North of Memphis, Tennessee and 60 miles east of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Before buying my first Foxtrotter, I was searching for a hobby that would last. Although breeding, training and selling Foxtrotters is no longer considered a hobby, I found what I was looking for in our Foxtrotting horses. To ride just one is to want to own one, or many!
Pictured above is our
12 year old mare, Lady who is by Trademarks Sensation. My grey mount is
Lady's Easter Breeze, an offspring of Lady and Box Car's Touch of Silver - the
latter sired by Box Car Wille W. We are excited about breeding both these
well bred mares to our stallion, Request the Gold,
in 2003.
Proving what is said about our area of Missouri, here is a photo of Risky and me on flat ground. It is so flat around here it is said that a man can sit on his porch and watch his dog run off for two days! But it sure does make for some great foxtrotting rides! The hill in the photo above is the only one around for sixty miles; it's the levee holding back the Mississippi River.
If you're planning a trip to our area, or are close by, please give us a phone call and stop by - we'd enjoy visiting with you.
